My Poor Neglected Blog

Man, what a slacker I am. I guess I have been enjoying my summer so much, I have not taken the time to actually post the goings on for over a month! And now I am back at work and so there will be no more fun to speak of! At least not for awhile. I think I better gear up for crazy mode again! Opening a school is just one problem after another, on top of the normal set up that needs to occur to get a school rolling in the first place. Anyway, we did do some fun things since July so I will try and make it back here and tell you a little bit about it. But right now I am exhausted and I have no idea where my camera is. And it would not be fun to tell you about our activities without some pictures to go along with the story. I hope everyone else has not been as neglectful as I have!

Seeing Shamu

Since we wanted to pick up a few things at IKEA to help with storage at Nana's house, we decided to make a weekend of it. (It is pretty sad that we don't have an IKEA here in town, or maybe it's a good thing we don't. I think I could spend a lot of money there.) Anyway, we headed down to San Diego Friday after work for a short weekend trip. And since we had Lincoln with us, we decided it was time to introduce him to Shamu.
I have actually only been to the Sea World in Florida, so this was my first trip to the San Diego park as well. I love all the shows they offer. It is so interesting to see how different animals can be trained. Lincoln enjoyed the Pet Show the most I think, but he was also really into the whales during the Shamu show as well. He also was enthralled by the Walrus and the fact hat there was Popcorn everywhere! :) He was not too sure about the whole getting wet thing. And I was extremely glad that we had seats a little higher and to the left than some other rather unfortunate audience members when we watched the dolphin show.
Overall, we had a great time at the park. It was a pretty nice day considering it was the middle of the summer- not too hot and not too crowded. Plus we had plenty of time after to make our way to IKEA to pick up a few closet organizers and doors for the Food Storage area we are trying to build at Nana's.
