We found an awesome Pumpkin at Costco a few weeks back and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to turn it into a Jack-O-Lantern! We thought about it doing it earlier this week, but it was extremely cold and windy. (Okay, not as cold as some places, but cold enough to not want to stand outside carving pumpkins!)
So today was the first time that we were both home without anything pressing on our time and the weather was cooperating. So we went ahead with the carving process. Now Lincoln has been engrossed with his Pumpkin ever since it came home with him, but he was not too sure about touching the innards! The only reason it looks like he might be helping is he wanted to hold the tools. But if we are being honest, Daddy did all the work. Well, Mommy cut off the top and pulled out some of the guts, but generally Daddy did do most of the work.
We had a few different books of possible pumpkin carvings to choose from, but then decided they were all a little small for this giant pumpkin in front of us, and Lincoln really did not have that much of an opinion about what to do. We even contemplated carving two or three different ones all around the pumpkin-which I am glad to say we opted against!
Finally, we decided to just do a run of the mill Jack-o-Lantern. We asked Lincoln what shapes he wanted for eyes, the nose and the mouth. Which he is used to because he goes online with Aunt Rina and builds "virtual" pumpkins quite a bit! So he chose triangles for the eyes, a circle or oval for the mouth and a happy mouth with "teef"!! According to Lincoln, it is a cute pumpkin!

Soo cute!! Lincoln is loving pumpkins right now, so I'm sure he loved doing the jack-o-lantern more than you know.
