Nevada Day=Fun!

Can I say I love Nevada Day! Always have! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the celebration of said day always fell on Halloween as a child growing up, which meant a vacation day was in store. (Which many times meant a quick trip to Disneyland to take advantage of much smaller crowds-since not everyone gets Nevada Day off!) And now as an Adult it still means I get a day off of work right around Halloween! We did not plan a trip to Disneyland but we still had a great day.
Lincoln woke up at 4 in the morning, so that wasn't the best start to the day. But luckily, he did go back to sleep so I got to sleep in a little bit past my usual 4:45 wake up time! We met Justins family at Claim Jumpers for Lunch-love their pretzels!! If you have never had one, don't! It's better that way, because once you have them no pretzel is ever good enough again. It is kind of like pizza. If you have never had New York Pizza, you don't realize just how bad all other pizza is! :)
It is always fun to spend time with family. And Aunt Donna and Uncle Alex love spending time with the boy. I imagine they like the rest of us too, but Lincoln is generally the center of everyone's attention!
After lunch we headed out to Floyd Lamb State park. Justin and I had not been back there since taking our engagement pictures. Quite a bit has changed since then, but it's still pretty much the same as it has been. We brought a ton of bread to feed the ducks. And what started out as a fun adventure for Lincoln turned into a feeding frenzy!! You would think those animals had not eaten in months! If it had just been ducks it would not have been bad, but with the large number of geese that we attracted, everyone had to retreat to the table tops, just to get away from them! It was crazy how many of those dang birds we attracted. Lincoln wasn't too scared of them, but he wasn't too excited when they tried to eat out of his hands. It did not take those birds long to eat every piece of bread we had brought!
We took a kite with us, but did not even bother to get it out of the car considering their really was no wind. I swear this town has the strangest weather! One day the wind gusts are up to 65 miles per hour, the next the temperature soars into the high seventies. It's just weird!
