Day 3: Ogden and Idaho

It was another exciting day today! We started out with a big surprise for the kids and a place that none of us had ever been to before. We went to the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden, UT. And it was well worth the trip. It was pretty amazing actually. It was a whole park dedicated to dinosaurs, but not just bones, they made life size representations of what they might have looked like based on the bones. It was an outdoor area with walking trails that you would view the Dinosaurs from in their “natural” environment. Cutler was in heaven. Once we were out in the walking trails, he would just run form Dinosaur to Dinosaur. You could not hardly get him to slow down to take a picture. We would recommend it to anyone with little boys coming up to the Salt Lake Area- the girls liked it too, but man that little boy was so excited!

After the Dino Park we drove to Pocatello, Idaho and visited with some of Rachels’ extended family. John’s Aunt Wanda lives there as well as some of her daughters. We visited for a little while and let the kids stretch their legs before heading out to Rexburg. In Rexburg we visited with my side of the family! We saw Nana Fe (I think she and Lincoln have missed each other a lot over the past few weeks), Landon, Erin, and the girls. Or as Emerie and Quincy call them, we saw their other cousins! We took the kids over to a Splash Park and they had fun playing in the water. It was a little colder than we are used to and the sun was going down, so many of the kids were quite cold! (you could tell because there teeth were chattering!!!) And by the time Dinner came (we had
Gandolfos Sandwiches-which are some of the best sub sandwiches ever!) we did not have too much trouble pulling them off to come eat

(Except Emerie and Lauren, they probably wold have stayed and played all night long.

We did not get to stay nearly as long as the kids or us wanted to in Rexburg, but we still had to drive to Ashton to stay with another of John’s Aunts. They live up in the hills outside Ashton and were very excited to be having guests! So even though we contemplated staying in Rexburg, we knew Linda would be very disappointed, so we said our goodbyes to the LeFevre clan and headed out to our final destination of the day.

By the time we got to Ashton it was dark, so Linda came into town to lead us out to their home. (Which was a good thing because the rods were not really labeled so I don’t think we would have had a fun time trying to find our way out there!) Which is a beautiful log home nestled out among the trees. It was really cool. I guess it was a build it yourself kit they purchased. It sounds almost like it was a giant lego project! Although we can not see much of the view, I bet it is beautiful! We will see for sure tomorrow!
