Happy 4th of July! I love being an American. I have always enjoyed my citizenship but know after traveling outside the states (when I can remember it) I am that much more appreciative of everything we have here in the states! I love America!
And what better way to celebrate America's birthday than enjoying America's sport! BASEBALL!! We got to attend the Colorado Rockies game. This was Justin's first major league game, and he might never be able to go again. Why you ask? Because we were very spoiled. My Uncle hooked us up with tickets, but not just regular run of the mill tickets. These were tickets that allowed us to enter a private Suite with air conditioning, a waiter, and some great perks. (Like being able to go out on the field for the Fireworks!! And meeting the Mascot up close and personal)
That's right we sat in a private suite to watch the Rockies play! At first we thought th egame was going to be a blow out. The rockies at one point were behind by 8 runs. But with a little luck and a lot of Home Runs, the Rockies pulled it out. They held the Marlins to 0 runs in the top of the 9th and then brought in two runners to win the game in the bottom of the 9th! It turned out to be a very good game. One of the highest scoring games I have ever heard of, with the final score being 18-16.
Lincoln did not see much of the game, he fell asleep in the 6th inning, as he was not feeling too hot. (Well, actually he as very hot- he had a temperature of 101! So we draped him in wet cloths and gave him some medicine.)
Lucky for us, he woke up in time for the Fireworks and seemed to be feeling much better. He was not too excited about being out on the field for the show, but he got over it. (Did I mention that as suite guests we got to sit on the field for the Fireworks!) Lincoln really did seem to like the Fireworks, he did not seem to be bothered at all by the loud banging noises. It was so exciting he even dropped his bottle!
