Well, we made it to Denver! I love it up here! I don't know if it is all the trees or the fresh air, but it is always a pleasure to be here! I think I could live here if the pay for teachers was more and the job opportunities better!
We took Lincoln to the Aquarium. None of us have ever been there before. And although it does not quite compare to the Monteray Bay Aquarium, it was really nice. They have it split into different areas from the Jungle to the Desert. Lincoln loved the sharks, or at least the area where they were the focus point! He also got to see a Tiger up close. (I know, I know! You are wondering why there were tigers at the Aquarium and I can not answer that for you. But it was a very up close experience with them!)
We also went to the Children's Museum. Lincoln had a good time playing with some of the other little kids there. But he was really enthralled with the magnetic letters that you could use with a giant magnetic area on the wall. He probably could have stood there and played with those letters for hours. (I am hoping to figure out something similar for his room!)
On Wednesday we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. And let me tell you if you ever get to go to Denver of the surrounding areas, you need ot go to this Zoo. It is awesome. It is located outside of Colorado Zoo on the side of a mountain. (Hence the name!) But this zoo is quite a bit different than any other zoo I have been to. It has a lot more interactive things for the patrons. Including feeding the Giraffes, petting different animals, and a ton of different animal training/zookeeping activities. This is the only zoo I have ever seen a Hippo out of water!
Lincoln even rode a train all by himself at the Zoo. I was a little worried that he might not like it and try to get off. But he was so good. He just sat there and smiled the whole time. It was funny to watch him smile as he made his loops around the track! He even got to pet a baby animal while he was there.
We had a lot of fun with my family members too. We went to the park and had a picnic dinner with John, Paige, Garret, Conner, and Greta as well as Mary Lou, Cary, Karen & Hunter. We had a nice BBQ dinner with Uncle Chuck and his family. The girls were so good with Lincoln. He had a ton of fun "jumping" on the tramp with them! We went to dinner with Cary, Karen, and Hunter and had lunch one day with GiGi and Chantelle. We even too Fried Cicken out to Mary Lou's for lunch and spent quite a few meals out with GiGi! As you can see we ate a lot, but had a great time doing it!
Lincoln had a ton of fun. And he was a trooper. He is still in the process of cutting two molars, so there were times he was not feeling all that great. But most people did not even notice. He was still such a good little boy!
