Well, we are off another grand adventure. But this time the company is larger. Lincoln and I are traveling with Rachel and her 5 kids as well as my mom on a vacation. So there are 9 of us traveling together in one car. That's right! 9 People in one car. But not only 9 people, 9 people and all the stuff they need for a 2 week trek across the Western United states. That's a total of 9 suitcases, 9 travel bags, 4 car seats, 1 travel booster seat, 9 jackets, 9 swim towels, 2 Nintendo DS, 1 DVD player, 1 portfolio of movies, 2 snack bags, 2 diaper bags, 6 blankets, 1 mp3 player, 1 bag of crochet, 1 bag of books, 1 purse, 1 Road map book, 1 cooler, 2 digital cameras, 2 umbrella strollers, 4 pillows, and 1 laptop. So basically imagine a suburban with every nook and cranny of the car completely full and you will have a vivid image of us.
The first leg of our journey took us to Salt Lake City. (We are actually staying in Orem at Haley's sisters house. Which we had to break into -don't worry we had permission-to use!)
It wasn't a bad day. We did not get off as early as we would have liked, but that is usually how it works out when you have to try and prepare for vacation. You always have those last minute errands and problems to overcome. The kids were very good overall. They were getting a little antsy outside Beaver, so we decided we needed to stop and let the kids out for awhile.
Driving through Beaver we happened upon an awesome park called Pioneer Park. It was great! There was stuff for all the different age groups of kids. And there were some really fun things like swinging bridges and climbing walls. The kids had a blast and it allowed them to work off some of their pent up energy.
We ate dinner in Beaver at the Pizza Factory. (This is not the same Pizza Factory that many of you might be picturing. Not that it wasn't good- it really was quite yummy. It just is not associated with the chain of pizza places with that same name. The ids loved it too. Especially Mabry, she just gobbled up the pasta that we bought for the little ones. By the time dinner was over Lincoln and Mabry were basically covered from head to toe in marinara sauce!
Well I better get some sleep before my little man decides it is time to be up! We are off to the Zoo tomorrow so that should be a ton of fun. I'll keep you posted!
